Apple TV+ today debuts the new original nine-part podcast “Hooked,” exploring the true story of Tony Hathaway, whose addiction to legally prescribed opioids led him to spiral from a top engineer to becoming one of the most prolific bank robbers in American history. The first three episodes are available today on Apple Podcasts and via RSS, with new episodes rolling out weekly on Wednesdays.
Hosted by journalist and Campside Media founder Josh Dean (“Chameleon: The Hollywood Con Queen,” “The Clearing”), and featuring interviews conducted over three years with Hathaway, his family, law enforcement and others involved in this remarkable story, “Hooked” delves into the devastating effects of the opioid epidemic told through the lens of one man’s remarkable descent into addiction and crime.
“Hooked” is produced by Campside Media. Executive producers are Vanessa Grigoriadis, Adam Hoff, Matt Shaer, Mark McAdam and Josh Dean.
