Creating an Account
Apple Music for Artists is a platform that allows artists and bands to record, release, and promote their music on Apple Music. You can also receive insights and analytics highlighting how listeners discover and stream your music. To create and manage your Apple Music for Artists account, you will need to use your Apple Account. When you sign in to Apple Music for Artists with your Apple Account, Apple will receive your username, email address, and information about your activity within Apple Music for Artists. The first time you sign in, you will be asked to accept the applicable terms and conditions. After you accept the terms and conditions, you will be asked to claim your artist page. Only artists or artist managers can claim an artist page and you must have live content on Apple Music for at least five business days before an artist page can be claimed. You may be asked to provide additional information to help us verify your identity or relationship to the artist or band, including your email, phone number, label information (such as your label name, label contact, label email, and label phone number), management information (such as your management company name and your manager contact name, phone number, and email), any available distributor connections, personal websites, and other social media accounts. Apple uses the above information to provide the Apple Music for Artists service. We may also use this information to help us detect fraud or misuse of the platform.
After you create your Apple Music for Artists account, you may choose to add additional users (such as a label representative) to your Apple Music for Artists profile. Any authorized user who has access to your artist account on the Apple Music for Artists platform for administrative or other purposes can view the name, email address, and role assigned to other users you add to your Apple Music for Artists account. You can remove a user from your account at any time by going to Account > Edit, clicking the user name, then clicking Remove.
If you provide your social media accounts, you will be asked to authenticate to those accounts. When you do so, we will receive a token that we use to access and record your profile name or username, whether your profile is verified, and the pages with which you are associated on the social media platform. We then discard the access token. This information is used to help verify your identity or relationship to the artist or band.
