“I’m passionate about storytelling
and
creating a world of joy through
my films.”

Growing up in a farming town in Northeastern Thailand, Theeraphut Masacoo (Jeng) dreamed of becoming a filmmaker. As a child, he loved watching movies — especially comedies — and aspired to one day bring stories of his own to the big screen. “The world can be a harsh place, and watching movies was an escape that brought me happiness. I want to do the same for other people, and bring light to the world,” he says.

With his first iPhone in high school, Jeng’s dreams of filmmaking started to become a reality. And the short films he created helped him win a scholarship to Bangkok University, where he currently majors in broadcasting and media production. Today, iPhone continues to inspire him to capture rich and colourful narratives that celebrate his local surroundings.

“It’s small enough to fit inside your pocket, yet it’s really powerful and flexible, and the camera quality is excellent for recording every detail,” he says.

When it’s time for post-production, Jeng reaches for his Mac, where he seamlessly transforms local content captured on his iPhone into high-quality films. He edits his raw footage using Adobe Premiere Pro, creates special effects using Adobe After Effects and adds sound with Logic Pro. He then finishes with colour grading using DaVinci Resolve for iPad with Apple Pencil.

“Editing video on my Mac and fine-tuning colour on iPad is just so easy — features like AirDrop mean my whole process is really efficient,” he adds.

Back at school, Jeng also relies on Mac for his daily production coursework. He uses Pages and Keynote to write scripts, creative treatments and pitch decks for his film classes. And with iCloud, he keeps his projects organised and accessible from anywhere.

Jeng is already well on his way to becoming the professional filmmaker and director of his dreams. Together with five classmates from Bangkok University, he runs a student production group called Lemon Space that has won several university filmmaking awards. He’s focused on continuing to showcase the richness of Thailand’s environment and the inspiration that can be found in daily life.

“With Mac and iPhone, anyone can be a filmmaker. These tools have empowered me to follow my dreams and create more beauty and joy in the world.”
