Apple Makes iBook Line More Powerful and Affordable than Ever

Industry-Leading Consumer Portable Now Less Than £850 (inc VAT)

Apple today updated its populariBook line of portables with faster PowerPC G3 processors running at up to800MHz and the ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics for stunning 3D gamingperformance. Weighing as little as 2.2 kg, the iBook now starts at only £849 (inc VAT), making it more affordable than ever.

In addition to faster processors, the iBook now provides incredible graphicsperformance with the ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics processor and up to32MB of dedicated memory. All of the new iBook models take advantage ofQuartz Extreme which uses the graphics engine to relieve the PowerPCprocessor of screen calculations to dramatically improve overall systemperformance and make the graphical user interface more responsive. Forall-day mobile use, the new iBook also offers industry-leading battery lifeof up to six hours.
Offering the latest in communications, all iBook models come with built-inantennae and an AirPort Card slot for 802.11-based wireless communicationsat up to 11 megabits per second. iBook now also offers a 56K internalfax/modem with support for the latest v.92 standard for new features such asfaster upstream data rates. Each iBook also comes with built-in fastEthernet (10/100BASE-T) for easy connections to networks as well as cableand DSL modems.
Every iBook includes Apple's industry-leading suite of digital lifestyleapplications including iPhoto for organising and sharing digital photos,iMovie 2 for creating digital movies and iTunes 3 for creating a digitalmusic library.
