Apple Learning Coach is a free professional learning program that trains instructional coaches, digital learning specialists, and other coaching educators to help teachers get more out of Apple technology. It’s a dynamic mix of self-paced lessons, workshop sessions, and personal creative projects.
Apple Learning Coach is a good fit for an educator who has the capacity to coach colleagues in your school or district.1 Applicants must have Apple Teacher recognition and approval from school, district, or organization leadership.
Engage in an online course including self-paced modules and two days of virtual workshops with Apple Professional Learning Specialists. This experience provides a cohort of fellow coaches, as well as Coaching Journals and actionable takeaways.
Meet the Facilitators. Apple Professional Learning Specialists are educators uniquely qualified to demonstrate how to best use Apple products for learning and teaching. They coach, mentor, and support educators in advancing their technology skills with an emphasis on innovation — to engage students in deeper learning.
Meet Your Cohort. During workshops, participants have the chance to virtually meet and collaborate with fellow coaches from the same region for a more personal, interactive learning experience.
Candidates will complete Units 1 and 2 independently, at their own pace.
Then, for Units 3 and 4, they’ll collaborate with other Apple Learning Coach candidates in virtual workshops.
Candidates will return to working independently for the last two units, 5 and 6, incorporating what they’ve learned from collaborating with peers during the workshops.
The final submission at the end of Unit 6 will be their Coaching Portfolio. Participants will build this portfolio using work from their Coaching Journals that are completed throughout the course.
Apple will assess candidates’ portfolios and notify them if they achieve Apple Learning Coach certification or if they’ll need to further refine their work.

To successfully complete the course, candidates will:
Apple Learning Coach has been great for helping me build community with other coaches. Instead of feeling isolated, I’m surrounded by a village.
As you work toward certification, you’ll learn how to guide effective coaching cycles with Apple resources. Throughout this course, you’ll build a portfolio demonstrating your coaching philosophy, the skills you’ve learned, and a plan to create a sustainable community of practice.
Coaching Portfolio. Each Apple Learning Coach will develop a Coaching Portfolio, including a Coaching Action Plan specific to the needs of the teachers at your school or district. At the end of the course, you’ll submit this portfolio for your final assessment.
Continuing Education Units. Candidates may be eligible to receive over 40 hours of continuing education units (CEUs) from a participating university, in recognition of their completion of the training and materials. Once the course is completed, candidates will receive instructions on how to request CEU credits directly from the university.
